Speed Limits
Motorway: 120 km / h
Open Road: 100 km / h
Town: 50 km / h
Alcohol limit: 0.8 mg / ml
Children in cars: It is not suitable for children under 12 years
old to travel in the front. Restraint system is required.
Documentation: As a driver you should have your driving licence
with you and the related documents such as vehicle registration
V5, motor insurance certificate. If you don’t have your photo
attached to your driving licence, you have to carry your
passport or identity with you.
Alcohol Limitation: The limit for alcohol is 0.8 mg / ml. Avoid
drinking and driving. |

Fines: In case of parking offences on the spot fines are issued.
You must have your official receipt taken from the officer who
is collecting fines.
Horns: Do not use between the hours 23:30 pm and 07:00 am.
Lights: Dipped headlights must be used in poor daytime
visibility.
Parking: In Dublin regulations for car parking is very strict.
In city center you can see parking meters operating. The avarage
cost is between 1,30 – 1,90 Euros / Hour. Outside of central
zone you would find Disk parking and also you can see them in
some suburban areas and in cities outside of Dublin. Besides
Credit cards, If you use mpark, you can charge your parking on
street to your mobile phone account by registrating to the
system.

Seat belts are obligatory for front and rear seat occupants, if
fitted.
Tolls: You pay tolls at some points in Dublin area – M50 ring
road between the N4 and N3 interchanges ( For cars 1.80 Euro is
charged ) and on R131 East Link Bridge it is 1.00 Euro for the
cars.
