The city of magic, Orlando is the fifth most visited city in United States. The city has a warm climate. Especially in summer season it is very hard to go out when the weather is 30 degrees and humidity is 90%. The Disney World which was established in 1971 had recently become the existance reason of the city.  Each one person of every two people that you come accross on the street of Orlando would either be a tourist or a person who is working in the field of tourism. The best months to visit Orlando is between June and August. Other than these months, March and April is also the high season for tourists. However it is advised to visit Orlando when there are not so many tourists. It is interesting that the times when the weather is great in Orlando, you can not see many tourists around. In this way you will enjoy the theme parks and shopping malls without crowd while you are enjoying the nice weather.

Orlando is know as one of the most popular destinations for tourists with it’s parks and resorts. The marine theme park called seaworld include the greatest rollercosaster in the district. The Disney world and Lake Buena Vista is located at the southwest of Orlando. Gatorland is regarded as the Aligator center of the world that is very close to Disneay World. You should also see the water park called Wet’n Wild where is at the international Drive. You can enjoy nightlife with many pubs and bars in downtown Orlando, around central Boulevard and Orange Avenue.
If you like to listen to Jazz, you may enjoy live music in the lounge of Westin Grand Bohemian Hotel where you can find on Orange Avenue. It is very relaxin place to enjoy, however you should check the prices before ordering a drink. For Latin music lovers Samba room would be a great place with Latin food, music and mojitos. It is located on Sand Lake Road on the left in a big shopping center.

Most of people arrive Orlando through Orlando International airport. This is the main and busiest airport in whole state in terms of passenger population. The airport is at the southeast of downtown Orlando and it is in a central area. There are major airlines offering flights to several destinations throughout USA and European cities. You can find airline companies like Delta airlines, Lutfansa, Aer Lingus etc. In the airport you will find central terminal A and B that include airline counters, baggage claim, many other shops, car rental desks. You would encounter with security scanning in central terminal before taking the tram. You can encounter a long que for security check especially during high summer season

Orlando is the capital of car rentals with many options for car rental companies and wide range of cars. In Orlando city there is no where to take a walk around. Moreover the public busses are not enough to satisfy tourists’ need who come to Orlando and also taxi rates are so high. It would be reasonable for you to rent a car in Orlando.

   DRIVING TIPS IN ORLONDO

In Orlando you would experience traffic jams around downtown in afternoon hours. In touristic areas the traffic is high on friday nights and on whole Saturday. Orlando is known is one of the eight high trafic destinations in US. You would probably see several constructions that make the car traffic higher.

  • Try to learn the controls on the car you rented. If you are a european you would see that the controls are on the steering Wheel instead of on the dash

  • Don’t drink and drive. If you are drunk, find someone who can drive your car for you or take a taxi. Drunken drivers are penalized by strict regulations. If you have any open bottles in your car, the police offices would ask you to get out and blow the breathalyzer.

  •

  • You must pay attention to low speed limits in front of schools. There are warning lights appearing on signs. In neighborhoods it is highly recommended to drive slowly. The speed limit is 25 mph.

  • In Highways the legal speed limit is set to be 55-75 miles per hour.

  • Pay attention to pedestrians walking accross the street.

  • It is important not to block intersections in urban areas when traffic accumulates, that there is a risk for drivers to get a ticket from police officers.

  • Beware of angry, agressive drivers. If another car drives very close to you, let it pass. Calm down and just drive your way.

  •

  • Always make sure your driving licence and auto insurance is with you.

  • When you would go to a Gas station you will be asked to pay in advance before filling your tank.

  • Note that the route numbers and the final destination signs are not same as in Europe

  • If you are lost, just park your car in a shopping area or stop your car to ask for directions.
