ROME CITY INFORMATION

It is hard to describe Rome with a few words; no end in sight and rich of art, including monuments and elegant landscapes. Rome is an historical city where has preserved it’s charm and independence for centuries. The history of Rome can be read in any monuments or in Palazzos. In fact every stone testifies the wars, magnificence, breakdowns and countless architectural designs.

The city of Rome can be described as an open air museum visited by millions of tourists, imigrants, scholars. The city was constructed on 7 different hills which are Quirinale, Viminale, Esquilino, Celio, Aventino and Capitolino. Quirinale is the highest hill among other hills. These Seven hills reveals many beautiful landscapes; the most thrilling one is San Pietro and the Pincio which has Gianicolo dome.

Rome
was developed randomly outwards without any city planning; Many areas were converted into residential areas by local administrations. At the North part of the city, near Vatican, there are more commercial and residential places called Prati and Mazini. There are even nice residential regions in where many consulates like Parioli and Momentano are located in. You can visit Ponte Nomentano near Montesacro which is a strong preserved bridge witnessed to many different eras in history.

The neighbourhood Monteverde hosts the biggest park Villa Doria pamphili in Rome. In further South, near S. Lorenzo there are the Prenestino and Tiburtino where are more crowded because of student population and there are many pizza houses and bars located there. Trastevere is more crowded in summer evenings and it is one of the most charming places of the city. Lastly Eur with it’s fascistic style architecture expressed by many Office and administration centers is one of the most modern places of Rome.
